2021 AHOU Scholarship Application

The submission deadline is March 24, 2021.

AHOU is dedicated to offering education and networking opportunities for underwriters. The 2021 AHOU Scholarship program is a great opportunity for mid-career underwriters (3-10 years of experience) who show an interest in expanding their technical and leadership knowledge. Please help AHOU get the word out to your fellow underwriting colleagues, teams members, and direct reports who qualify. Non-members are welcome to apply.

Applicant Qualifications:

3-10 years in a production underwriting role with a life insurance carrier, reinsurer, underwriting service provider or brokerage firm; or self-employed underwriting consultants. Underwriting supervisors are eligible if they meet the basic production underwriting criteria.
Applicant has never attended and does not have a corporate-sponsored opportunity to attend a Regional Underwriting Conference or the AHOU Annual Conference in the next 12 months.
Applicant must be employed on a full-time basis.
Completed the minimum industry requirements:
- LOMA: Achievement of Level 1, ACS, and/or ALMI course work required for FLMI designation; and
- ALU: Successful completion of ALU 101.

*AHOU reserves the right to forego either/both awards if there is a lack of qualified and/or sufficient essay submissions.
