From the President

Greetings to all AHOU members and underwriting colleagues! We are excited to have you join us at the 21st AHOU Annual Conference, May 1-4, 2022. We have waited a long time for this special moment when we can all come together in person at the AHOU conference. I am anxious to catch up with all my fellow colleagues and friends, as well as make new friends, at this year’s conference.

This year will be extra special as we reconnect with all our underwriting colleagues at the beautiful Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center located in Aurora, Colorado near the mile-high city of Denver. The conference will offer many educational and networking opportunities. Together we can update our knowledge and skills, share ideas, and discuss timely relevant topics that are changing our industry today. I am very proud of our Program Committee, under the leadership of Mark Lounds and Jonathan Meindel, who have worked diligently to develop an exciting array of educational sessions during the conference. The conference will include over 30 different breakout sessions in addition to 3 super-sized sessions. This year, there will be five educational tracks to choose from that will help you earn your professional continuing education credits: Core, Innovation, Industry Insights, Risk Management/Fraud/Financial and Career Development. Stay within the track or mix it up and attend a variety of track sessions. Our program is designed to offer you fascinating topics in every track that will meet your educational needs.

In addition to the plethora of breakout sessions offered, we also have two entertaining and thought- provoking Mainstage sessions. On Monday, our “Tech Humanist,” Kate O’Neill, will present the case for why the future of humanity is in creating more meaningful, integrated experiences, and how emerging technologies can be included in a human-centric design. Bruce Kirkby, an acclaimed explorer, wilderness writer and adventure photographer will close our conference on Wednesday as he guides us on how to face uncertainty and challenges with GRIT instead of GRINDING. Both of these fascinating speakers have applicable lessons you can take back to your leadership teams and apply to your business immediately.

The AHOU Executive Council sends an enormous thank you and gratitude to all our sponsors and vendors that have supported the AHOU organization throughout the year and will be present at the AHOU Conference and Marketplace. We will have several exhibitors representing a wide range of products and services.
