Cheryl Manning-Waithe joined New York Life as an underwriter trainee in July 1987 and began her career in our Home Office located in New York, New York. In 1993, she was asked to consider moving to Cleveland, Ohio to help pioneer and start the underwriting operation in a regional service site. It was an honor to be asked and an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of such an endeavor, so Cheryl left all her family in New York and relocated to the cold temps of Cleveland where she currently resides.

Over the course of her NYL career, Cheryl has done what brings her tremendous joy. She has shared her knowledge, mentored and developed many underwriters and watched them excel from entry level to appointive officer level. Her mantra, “If I can help somebody, then my living shall not be in vain”.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from Syracuse University. She is a FINRA Registered Representative-holding a Series 6. She has earned her ACS and ALMI designations and has been instrumental in the development of the Continuing Education programs within her department.

Cheryl has two children, Alexis and Quincy who both decided to continue to reside and work in Cincinnati, Ohio upon graduating from the University of Cincinnati. As empty nesters, Cheryl and her husband, Eric are busy with two Shih Tzu puppies, Simba and Teddy.
