Norm Leblond, FALU, has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriter with Swiss Re Canada since 2014. He began his underwriting career 24 years ago at Sun Life Financial. Norm served 7 years as a member of the AHOU Program Committee and Executive Council, including as President of AHOU in 2014-2015 (Conference in Washington, DC). In addition to his role in AHOU, Norm has also served as Chairperson for the Canadian Institute of Underwriters (CIU), President of the Southwestern Ontario Underwriter's Club, 2 terms on the ALU Board, Incoming member of the ALU Continuing Education & Survey committees, and is a current member of the Society of Actuaries Committee on Life Insurance Mortality & Underwriting Surveys. Norm grew up in Northern Ontario and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. He currently lives in Waterloo with his wife Heather.
