Selena started at Manulife in 1989. She is currently AVP & Associate Chief Underwriter. In this role, she works with multiple product lines as well as various distribution channels across Individual Insurance, Affinity and Group. She leads a team responsible for the day to day operations and risk management of the business which includes training, philosophy, cosigning, claims reviews, and much, much more! Selena has represented Manulife on many different industry organizations over the years including exam writing for the Academy of Life Underwriting (ALU) for five years. An executive member of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) as secretary for three years and then AVP/VP program for two years. She also joined the executive for the Canadian Institute of (CIU) which led full circle, back to representing the CIU on the Board of Directors for the ALU. She is currently working with the Canadian Reinsurance Conference (CRC) team and is an Advisory Board Member of the Global Women’s Alliance (GWA) within Manulife. On a personal note, she is excited to get back to travelling!
